Lock and Braidwood: where community gathers
For years, this corner has been a place where Peterborough gathers. Now known as Lock Street Diner, and formerly Thurston’s, we’re carrying forward the same spirit that made this diner a local institution: familiar flavours, fair prices, and a seat for everyone.
Open 8-2 Tuesday-Sunday

We just had the most incredible lunch/breakfast here! The Greek salad and beef barley soup are wildly delicious! The staff are incredible and the atmosphere is warm and relaxing! If you live in the area or are just passing through, you must visit! You will not be disappointed! The food is made with love!

While you are here be sure to check out the hockey wall of fame
Be sure to check out our hockey wall. Owner Jim Malakos has been collecting Peterborough Petes and NHL memorabilia for years—much of it gifted by Petes players themselves, many of whom went on to the NHL. It’s a little piece of local hockey history, right in the diner.
